Surfing

The most popular activity we offer, surfing is a rite of passage for all Australians. Starting with the stuff you need to know, like understanding surf and how boards work, we make sure everyone has the knowledge to read and handle surf conditions. We help students understand the wind, swell and tides.

From here our students quickly move onto the water and into the real fun.

Getting upright on a board is the goal and our patient and experienced instructors constantly provide help, tips and the occasional push so that everyone has the best chance possible of standing on their own two feet.

Outthere provides everything you'll need for a safe and fun session including soft surfboards and full length 3/2mm wetsuits. Out There can accommodate both the smallest and largest group sizes. We cater for school groups, corporate groups, the general public and private groups (minimum age 8).

Teachers accompanying a school group can watch from the comfort of the beach, or get in and carve the waves with their charges. We also provide surf guides for advanced groups who are looking for local knowledge to get the maximum awesome ride during their trip to Phillip Island.

We offer lessons around the amazing surf beaches of Phillip Island, Wilson's Promontory and anywhere along the South Gippsland Coast. We'll help you choose the best spot for your lesson based on skill level, and the surf conditions on the day.

All our activities are fully insured and comply with all necessary guidelines as set out by the Education department and the AAS. All lead instructors have community surf life saving certificates and level two first aid. Children's checks are mandatory for all Outthere staff.
